Air New Zealand has dropped significantly in the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards.
Our national carrier has dropped ten places to 30th in the survey.
Skytrax named Qatar Airways the "Airline of the Year" for the unprecedented seventh time.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “To be named as the World’s Best Airline was always a goal when Qatar Airways was created, but to win it for the seventh time and pick up three additional awards is a testament to all the hard work of our incredible employees".
"Their continued dedication and drive is to ensure our passengers have the best experience possible when they fly with Qatar Airways. To win these awards in the same year that we celebrate our 25th anniversary is even more rewarding and I want to offer sincere thanks to all our passengers who voted for us".
Between September 2021 and August 2022, more than 13 million consumer surveys were conducted in more than 100 countries.
Skytrax top 10 airlines for 2022
The Doha-based airline previously operated a three-times-week Doha-Brisbane-Auckland route but dropped the Brisbane layover earlier this year in favour of Adelaide.
Skytrax also named Qatar Airways' new hub Hamad International Airport in Doha the World's Best Airport 2022.
Skytrax is a website that reviews and ranks airlines and airports. It is headquartered in the United Kingdom. It has been in charge of the awards since 1999.
