In early July, the Wēiti River channel was temporarily closed to construct a staging platform on the eastern side, enabling safer construction of Pier 4 and the transfer of a 280-tonne crane.
The closure, affecting only the upstream river section, will end in late August, with an 18-metre navigable gap available post-reopening.
Vessels will have limited passage during work hours due to overhead load lifts.
A second closure is planned for later this year.
NZTA apologises for any inconvenience and thanks river users and neighbours for their patience during the Wēiti River Bridge construction.
