If you are waking to heavy rain tonight, MetService says it could intensify fast.

A Yellow Heavy Rain Watch is in place for Auckland north of the Harbour Bridge and for Northland from tonight to tomorrow, with periods of heavy rain, possible thunderstorms, and localised downpours.

MetService says rainfall amounts may approach warning criteria, or possibly exceed them in localised areas, and there is a moderate chance the Watch will be upgraded to a Warning.

Rain Radar

More heavy rain is expected on Wednesday, and MetService says another Watch or Warning may be issued, as a low with tropical origins is likely to impact New Zealand’s weather from Wednesday.

For Hibiscus Coast households, it is one to keep on the radar overnight and into tomorrow as conditions develop.
