Rubber pieces may pose choking risk.New Zealand Food Safety is supporting Nestlé in recalling specific Milo Dipped Snack Bars over possible rubber contamination.
Acting deputy director-general Jenny Bishop said rubber pieces in the product could cause choking.
The recall applies to Nestlé Milo Dipped Snack Bars (160g) with batch numbers 5316 TD15, 5317 TD15 and 5318 TD15, and a best-before date of AUG 2026.
The affected products were sold at supermarkets and retail stores nationwide.
They have been removed from shelves and were made in Australia.
The same product is also subject to recall there.
New Zealand Food Safety has received no reports of associated injury.
Customers are asked to check the best-before date and batch details on the box.
Affected product should not be consumed and should be returned to the retailer for a full refund.
If returning it is not possible, it should be thrown out.
New Zealand Food Safety will work with Nestlé to understand how this happened and prevent its recurrence.
