Mark Mitchell emerges as the frontrunner with a significant lead of 19,330 votes, amassing an impressive 25,330 votes in his favour.
Estefania Muller Pallarès stands as the second candidate with 6,000 votes
The National Party takes the lead in the party votes with a solid 53.36%, emphasizing its support within the community.
The Labour Party secures the second position in party votes, with a percentage of 15.66%.
As the final results are being eagerly anticipated, the residents of Whangaparāoa remain engaged and invested in the unfolding democratic process.
On his Facebook page, Mark said, "I'd like to pass on a huge thank you to all those who supported me and thank you for your vote in this election. It's an honour to serve you and I am ready to continue to support, lead and deliver for everyone in the Whangaparaoa electorate."
