Police seek public help in locating suspectManhunt underway.

Auckland City Police are urging the public's assistance in locating Hone Kay-Selwyn, a 31-year-old man connected to the recent homicide investigation in Ponsonby.


A warrant has been issued for Kay-Selwyn's arrest on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm.


"Our investigation is progressing," says Detective Inspector Chris Barry of Auckland City CIB. "We understand the community has questions, and we want to assure them that our top priorities are providing answers to the victim's family and apprehending this suspect."





Police warn that Kay-Selwyn should be considered dangerous and should not be approached by members of the public.


Anyone who spots him is urged to contact emergency services immediately by dialing 111.



Detective Inspector Barry emphasises the importance of public collaboration.


"We are aware that some people may have knowledge of Kay-Selwyn's whereabouts," he states. "We want to remind anyone who assists him in evading capture that they could face charges of being an accessory after the fact."


The Detective Inspector expressed gratitude to those who have already come forward with information.


"The calls we've received have been instrumental in obtaining this arrest warrant," he acknowledges. "We appreciate your assistance, and now we need your help to locate him."





Police are appealing to anyone with information or footage related to the incident to come forward.

While the identity of the victim remains undisclosed due to ongoing notifications, police have assured the public that further updates will be provided as soon as possible.
