SH1 will close overnight between Silverdale and Oteha Valley Road on two nights next week while NZTA carries out general maintenance.

NZTA says the southbound side will be closed from the Silverdale interchange to Oteha Valley Road on Wednesday, January 21, from 9pm to 5am.

The Silverdale southbound on-ramp and the Oteha Valley Road southbound off-ramp will also be closed, with signposted detours in place.

The recommended detour is via Twin Coast Discovery Highway, Dairy Flat Highway and Oteha Valley Road.

The northbound side will be closed from Oteha Valley Road to the Silverdale interchange on Thursday, January 22, from 9pm to 5am.

NZTA says the Oteha Valley Road northbound on-ramp, the Silverdale northbound off-ramp, and the BP Service Station Dairy Flat off-ramp and on-ramp will be closed, with no public access to the BP ramps during the works.

The recommended detour is via Oteha Valley Road and Dairy Flat Highway.

NZTA also advises there will be southbound lane restrictions on Monday, January 19, Tuesday, January 20 and Thursday, January 22, from 9pm to 5am.

Southbound traffic will still be able to travel at all times during those lane restriction nights, but drivers should expect a slower run through this section and follow traffic management instructions.
