Coasties are set to benefit as NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) gears up for the first phase of seven Roads of National Significance (RoNS) projects.
Transport Minister Simeon Brown has lauded NZTA's swift action in advancing these critical infrastructure developments across New Zealand.
In line with coalition agreements, the Government aims to boost economic growth by enhancing transport links nationwide.
Minister Brown emphasised the importance of these projects in facilitating faster and safer travel for both people and freight.
"There is plenty of work to be done, and I’m pleased to see NZTA taking the first steps to deliver upon the Government’s ambitious plan for New Zealand’s transport network," he stated.
NZTA has already begun appointing project teams to expedite consent processes, property acquisition, and design phases.
The initial focus will be on the strategic corridor from Warkworth to Wellsford in Northland, with further developments planned in the coming years.
